At the heart of our Payroll Services department, our Payroll Services Specialist is responsible for processing employee compensation accurately and on time. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of payroll regulations, and proficiency with payroll systems. The specialist ensures compliance with tax laws, handles employee queries, and supports reporting and audits.

What you’ll do day to day
Collect and verify timesheet data and payroll inputs
Calculate wages, deductions, bonuses, and commissions.
Ensure payroll practices comply with HMRC regulations and employment law.
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and pension contributions.
Generate payroll reports for Finance and HR teams.
Lead on internal and external audit
Address payroll-related queries and resolve discrepancies.
Provide payslips and income statements as required.
Maintain payroll databases and update employee records.
Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate on-boarding and off-boarding data.
Support audits and provide documentation when needed.
Helpful skills and qualifications

In-depth knowledge of payroll legislation
Experience with multi-site or high-volume payroll
CIPP qualification or equivalent
Strong leadership and mentoring skills
Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with pension schemes and benefits
Experience in payroll audits or reconciliations
Project management or change leadership experience
